Halloween Bugs

Happy Halloween!!!

"Princess" Lady Bug Ava is off to do some serious trick or treating at the Ward Party.
(not sure why she's so solemn in this picture... perhaps the mouthful of candy she's already scored on?)
We had to make a big deal out of the "princess" part or she wouldn't have anything to do with the wings and tutu.... it's happening more and more frequently now where we have to "dress up" things like "Princess Vegies" or "Princess boots" or "Princess Potty" for her to comply. Nice. Love it.

Please don't mind the crazy part.... remember... I grew up in Wyoming where any type of hair style you have ends up in a tangled mass after stepping outside in 90 mile per hour wind. We just don't bother DOING our hair after a while. Hence, the "S-shaped" part.

At the Ward party we ran into the number one costume choice of the year... Ladybugs.... scads of them! So we shoved them all in the corner and snapped a picture. How sweet are they!

Fall Photo Fodder

The other day Taylor asked if I still liked taking pictures since it's been a while since I've gone out and played with my camera....

so today we went out for a long walk and I took my long lost buddy (yes, I've humanized my camera, at least I'm not the weirdo who dresses up small monkeys and calls them their children... I'm only a step or two away from that freak flag).

ANYWAY, this will teach T not to question my undiluted love for snapping up pictures. Or maybe it will just prove to him that taking photos of dead foliage is my new calling... I'll let him make his own conclusions.

PS. i LOVE October... LOVE IT!!! And I want to know what you are all going to dress up as for Halloween? Or are you just gonna stuff your kids into something and reap the sweet, sweet rewards from their Trick or Treating? Please... do tell!

Older and Wiser Too?

Happy Birthday to ME!

Tuesday was my bday.... well, not technically.... since birth mama came into the picture, i like to claim BOTH birthdays. So to be really really specific:

Tuesday was my bday.... ACCORDING to all my naturalization documents, adoption decree, driver's license, and all debts that I've so willingly incurred up to this date.... so let's CELEBRATE!!!!

Taylor is fantastic. But you all knew that! He threw me a party with many of our great friends and I love him for it.

*useless, yet awesome fact about me: I LOVE when people sing me happy birthday... I wish there were many many verses to the song. Instead, I just pretend that I missed the first part and ask them to sing it again.... louder.*

Thanks for the first birthday party I've had in YEARS, T!!! I wish I took pictures, it was creepy, freaky, ghoulish, Halloween-themed and he and the guys who helped Taylor out did NOT disappoint!

It's taken me a few days to blog bout it since we're still suffering from Cake Hangover....

Internet Issues!

If anyone is wondering if you should send out the dogs to come find me since I haven't commented on blogs, returned emails or facebook messages.... no worries! We had some issues with our internet (again) and have been 'unplugged' for a week or so. Grrrr... but I'm back and even though I will read ALL 196 blogs that I've fallen behind on (so far... the number keeps climbing!) I am just gonna tell ya'll this now... i LOVE you, but won't be commenting on the blogs I missed this last week.

I said it. It's final! I hate NOT commenting on blogs and so it really bugs me to read and not add my thoughts on your posts, but I would be sitting at the computer for the next 3 years if I were to do that....

I'm sorry if that disappoints anyone (I mean, who WOULDN'T wanna hear my two cents on every thought out there?????) but let's face it... time to save my sanity, right?

As for what's up in our corner of the world...

We're doing great! Every week's shot in the bum is just a minor speed bump... enough to send me to sleep for 18 hours straight since I get so tired afterwards, but nothing too life-altering. I am still so blessed with friends and family who keep us in their hearts... so thank you all.
