Just a quickie post before I forget.
That's what "Baby Brain" does to you, right?
I can't remember.
Today was a big day for us.
Ava gave her very first talk in Primary today!!
She did such a great job,
Taylor and I are very proud of her.
We love her favorite line:
"In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!"
She said it with such Gusto!
You're growing up, my girl, slow it down a bit, eh?
The quality of this photo is miserable but I was being stared at by a sea of curious three and four year olds and I got nervous...
they could have taken me out and easily stolen my camera. Strength in numbers, right?
Last night, these two made their first snow fort together.
While Taylor was doing the grunt work, Ava was playing "house".
From inside, she would say in her most motherly, high-pitched voice,
"Oh DEEEAR! Come on in the house. You look cold. I have some brand new soup for you!"
ps. Taylor... I dig your really happy "I just built a fort" smile... it cracks me up!!!
Here's a self-portrait.
Of me.
Right now.
Pregnancy Face. CHECK!
Not just "feeling" huge... but legitimately ginormous. CHECK!
Manic happiness one second. Wanting to run people over in my car the next second. CHECK!
Hitting my gut with doors I open because I keep forgetting to allow myself more room. CHECK!
LOVING that we're finally having this kiddo... someone we've been waiting for for a very long time. CHECK and CHECK.
This pregnancy has been a doozy, but nevertheless, I should write some of the details down lest I ever forget.
- I've been much sicker with this guy than when I was pregnant with Ava. I was about 18 weeks along by the time I felt like I was "rounding that corner" and feeling somewhat normal. Now that morning sickness isn't my main complaint, I've got this incredible cold that is RUINING MY LIFE!!!!!!! (whew, those hormones. They get outta control sometimes)
- Cravings are different this time around. With Ava, I wanted watermelon and root beer floats ALL. THE. TIME. And meat was a major puke-inducer. However, this pregnancy I've been all over the charts. Meat isn't horrible, but I'm not craving it. Some BIG cravings have been: anything SPICY (I ate an entire jar of kim-chee within a two hour period), salty and carby... load it up! And I wanted to fry everything in sight.
- Ava. I'm just gonna quickly say it (I don't want to jinx myself): thankyouforbeingsopatientandlovingandkindtoyoursickasadogmama.iamgratefulforyoueverysingletimeyoupatmybackwheni'mhurlinginthetoilet.iloveyou,mysweetgirl.
- Taylor. I look forward to your nightly back rub before bed... nearly every single night thus far (let's not break this streak here). That's just one of the jillions of reasons why I love you so (especially while I'm pregnant). Oh, and sorry in advance... I'll most likely bite your head off for something menial in the next few hours. Followed by tears. Followed by hysterical laughter. Followed by an emotional lull. Lucky you!
- Preparing for a boy is FUN. Seriously, so much fun!
