BOO!

Happy Halloween to All!

Today started off with a fresh stack of pumpkin pancakes (well, orange-dyed Krusteez mix). Ava was thrilled to help me out (well, getting fudge syrup all over the countertop). Oh and the white one is supposed to be a ghost... but little Miss Antsy Pants was getting hungry.. and Nutella does NOT work for the face!

Getting Festive
Beboo got this Halloween outfit for Ava- Thanks Beboo!

T just loves his Mullets!
Before work, Taylor whipped up this "Plasma Dispensing Hat" and went as a White Trash Plasma Collector.... oh the nastiness! All those who have worked in the Plasma biz will notice that the bottle on the left is lipemic plasma (fatty) and the right one is, well, contraceptive-filled. The bottles were filled with juices, but please don't gag, he didn't drink out of the bottles! If you look closely, the sexiness just gets better with the WORST facial hair in the history of facial hair. Oh what we do for Halloween.

Now this is better- No mullets here! We went nice n' frugal this year and with the combo came up with Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz- complete with a "not-very-cute Todo" dog toy. But I think Ava pulled hers off very nicely!

"EW. What IS that thing?"

Practicing the art of Trick or Treating

Helping me make my "Severed Finger Cookies"

Grotesque

I'm sorry I didn't get dressed up this year... I truly had a PLAN and even the dress, but time just escaped me and before I know it the end of the day is here!

Tonight Ava and I went trick or treating to our neighbors' homes and collected some good loot (when prompted to say "Trick or Treat!" she would just say, "Treat!" That's our girl- priority, right! Then we went to Taylor's work and hung out with him and his co-workers who were closing up for the night- some of the workers dressed up and they looked awesome!

Then we were invited to go to our friends' home, the Porter's, to eat with them their traditional dinner-in-a-pumpkin! It was INCREDIBLE (just like the past THREE years we've had Halloween dinner at the Porter's home!) and it was just so nice to talk and have fun with them and Cassie, Jake and their sister-- Thanks, Aly and Ryan- we had a BLAST and we LOVE your sweet little girl!

AHHHHHH.... contented sigh of relief, the day is over (now on to the next holiday!) Ava just passed out (finally winding down from her major sugar high) and I'm about to go in, cuddle up and watch a movie with T-- oh and eat ALL of Ava's hard-earned candy!

Happy Halloween

Costumes of Halloween Past

Into the archives we go!! Just wanted to dig up a couple of last years' Halloween costumes. This year has been more difficult pinning down any solid ideas for all of us: Here were a few of our top options (mind you: cheap, cheap, and cheap were the only three criteria)

- Struck by lightening (from Rachel's blog ideas)
- Down-n-Out Stockbrokers
- Canadians (just in case "you-know-who" is voted President... and no, I'm not talking about Voldemort
- Mormon Tabernacle Choir singers
- Wizard of Oz characters
- John Lennon and Yoko Ono

The ridiculous list goes on and on... Stay tuned and find out what we ended up choosing for Halloween '08. (I don't have pictures of this year yet)

A Girl Scout and his Cookie
(T refused to be a girl ever again for Halloween, hmmmm- don't get it, he pulls it off so well!)

Ava thought it was a little weird, "Dad, what's up with the skirt and beard combo?"

Last year Ava was a Bumble Bee- easy and oh so cute!

Oooh baby, so hot. This was Two years ago- I thought I'd put it up for nostalgia's sake. We spent an awesome Halloween with the Bennett's and Thueson's- for more hilarity here's a great post made by Britt that led us down hysterical memory lane: TRIBUTE
Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!
Love, The Wilson's

Birthday Weekend!!!

This weekend we took a trip to Utah to celebrate my Birthday!!!! Taylor's awesome brother invited us to go on a double date to a MASQURADE BALL with him and Taunya. Yeah, that's right- how often can you say that you danced the night away at a masked ball???? It was so much fun! I wish, wish, WISH I took more pictures: instead I'll snap some "verbal pics" for you.

All dressed up... it took us all a while to get used to the "anti-sunglasses" effect... hilarious watching us blinking, shifting, squinting, and readjusting to get the masks JUST right!

Taylor "just had this old thing lying around". He looked so handsome! And thanks, Rick, for supplying the awesome masks! It's not a mask without a couple of huge feathers tickling the other side of your face with ever dance move!

Ok: Now here's a few "VERBAL PICS"

*click* the 2008 Chrystler 300C Rick rented for the dance... such a sweeeeeeet ride

*click* everyone dancing to MJ's Thriller (all except me... I was too uncoordinated and ended up nearly tripping three girls with gowns that were way too long in the first place)

*click* all sorts of masks and fun outfits-- I was so happy that people got into it... there were V for Vendetta masks, huge feathery masks, Phantom of the Opera, even....

*click* the Burger King king was there! That was fun!

*click* All four of us DANCED the entire night away.... I give the guys major props for not once complaining or wanting to just "sit this one out"! I love that Taylor had just as much fun as I did, makes me add to the always-growing list of reasons why I love him!

*click* This guy came dressed as a Jester, which is a great costume.... however, he forgot to wear tights- so it just looked like a dude wearing an obscenely short tunic dress and funny shoes (ew. too much leg exposure)

*click* At the end of an amazingly wonderful night, we stumbled back in at 2 in the morning... relieved the sweetheart who babysat for us and CRASHED OUT!!!! That was one FUN DATE!

The next day, we went to Rick's Karate competition in Salt Lake City. Rick's new sport is pretty fun to hear about, but seeing it in action was really cool!

Uncle Rico, Taylor and Ava waiting for some sparring to begin!

All of us! Front: Adam, Lindsey, Ava, me
Back: T, Rico, Jacob, Jaime, Taunya

Rick lands a solid kick during his sparring match... he was awesome!

T catches it all on video

Wish I had more from the competition, but Ava was using the entire set of bleachers and anyone around her as her own personal jungle gym- so she kept me busy!
Anyway, Rick, if you're reading this- thank you so much for inviting us to come to the dance with you... we had so much fun! It was the BEST way to usher in a new year!

Speaking of a New year-- today, I turned 26. A tad crazy, now that I think about it... though I haven't really put much thought into it today. Taylor surprised me with a full day of pure relaxation (slept in LATE, he took Ava and made breakfast, lunch and dinner) what a champion! Thanks, T- growing old with you is pretty wonderful.

Destry and Riley surprised us with some cupcakes and a great gift... thanks a bunch you guys!

Ava helped me out with the candles.

Thanks to EVERYONE who called or wrote and wished me a Happy Birthday-- I've got the best family and friends ever-- I truly believe that! Here's to another amazing year!!

Helllooo Gorgeous!

Taylor took this photo last night and played around on a cool Photoshop-like program.
I love it- thanks T, she's perfect

Riley's Baby Shower!

Our good friends, Riley and Destry, are having a baby boy!!! Destry was already given a baby shower by her mother in law in Boise-- and I wasn't about to compete with THAT-- she did a great job! But Taylor and I wanted to do something special for the Hursts, so we threw RILEY a Baby Shower!!

Let me add this: ladies, if you're ever wanting to do a baby shower-- do one for the Husband-- it's SO MUCH EASIER. Just have food, a pool table, foos ball and ping pong tables, and have the LSU vs. FL football game going on in the background-- the guys were thoroughly entertained the entire time!

We invited Riley and Destry's friends and their spouses and had a GREAT time. Taylor and I are thrilled for the Hursts', they are going to make amazing parents!

Here are a few pictures from the party:

Open Houses are the ONLY way to go when hosting a Dude's Baby Shower!

Ava made off with Dyllan's pool stick and gift

Adorable Kyrah Porter getting kissed all over-- she is such a good baby!

WUD UP.

Intense game of foos ball

Some of the ladies chatting around "Riley's Cravings" table (pinwheels, gummy bears, animal crackers, brownies, almond joy, Little Debbie oatmeal cream cookies, and of course, Dr. Pepper!)

Opening gifts-- Ava thought this was all just for her... attention monger!

Congrats!! We love you guys!

A little less Stress for You!

Have you ever felt like shooting FIRE from your eyes when you get stuck on a phone call that's fully Automated???!!! I DO. Patience is NOT one of my virtues! Ack, going from one long list of options, to another ridiculous set, and yet ANOTHER... seems there's just NO END to the calm, robotic voice that's prompting you to "stay on the line because your phone call is important to them". IMPORTANT?!? Puh-Leeeeeze!

Well, I stumbled upon a JEWEL of a site... it's

You can type in any company's name and it actually has the shortcut codes to real, live operators!!! It's true... no more waiting until option 13 makes its way around to you, no more staying on the line because the wait is approximately 6 MORE minutes, no more teeth-grinding, lose-your-cool-with-a-non-person moments!! Like manna from heaven. By the way, the site is FREE, yes, free; and super easy to use!
